About the position

The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment by performing timely and safe maintenance and repairs. This position is responsible for both unplanned and scheduled maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to safety protocols. The technician will communicate effectively with team members and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and contribute to a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform unplanned maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime.
• Provide emergency repairs during production and complete maintenance request forms for each repair.
• Conduct daily checks on wastewater, boilers, compressors, and HVAC equipment, reporting any issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled repairs, completing planned maintenance work tickets.
• Ensure all work is conducted safely according to training and manufacturer's recommendations.
• Communicate effectively with maintenance team members and production supervisors before and after maintenance work.
• Assist in troubleshooting maintenance issues and apply mechanical skills to resolve problems.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years of related experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Plumbing, or HVAC fields.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and reports.
• Basic computer skills and general shop knowledge.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous forklift experience.
• Technical school or certification in a relevant field.
• Welding experience.
• Experience with mill and lathe operations.
