About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is integral to the Mechanical Integrity (MI) program, responsible for performing examinations, including Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT) and Visual Testing (VT), as well as conducting Designated Route Inspections. The technician also supports the development of equipment and piping circuits through field sketching and translating those sketches into detailed AutoCAD drawings. These tasks involve evaluating the external integrity of pressure vessels, piping systems, and storage tanks in accordance with API codes and industry standards. The primary goal is the proactive identification of corrosion, leaks, coating failures, and insulation damage, ensuring safe, reliable, and continuous operations throughout the FPC Texas complex.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and/or training in a petrochemical or industrial field, which includes mechanical or inspection-related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in NDE techniques strongly preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred
  • Knowledge of API 570, API 510, and API 653 preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, GE APM System, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam) preferred
