About The Position

Part-Time AM-PM Maintenance Technician / Overnight Security Are you ready to embark on A Journey with the Hilton Christiana and Meyer Jabara Hotels? We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Maintenance Technician / Security Team Member who takes pride in keeping our hotel safe, functional, and welcoming. This dual-role position is perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving and being a visible presence for both guests and team members. You’ll be someone we rely on — whether it’s responding to a maintenance issue, assisting a guest, or ensuring the safety and security of the property. Your ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and maintain a “can-do, guests-first” attitude is essential.

Requirements

  • Comfort balancing maintenance tasks with security responsibilities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 lbs independently and assist with heavier items when needed.
  • Use manual dexterity to move equipment, luggage, wheelchairs, and safety tools.
  • Use computers and systems to complete reports and access work-related information.
  • open availability, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Flexibility in covering shifts on short notice is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair hotel equipment and systems including guest rooms, kitchen, laundry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and refrigeration.
  • Execute the hotel’s preventive maintenance program.
  • Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and resolve issues to guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with hotel departments (Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Guest Services) to ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Perform daily physical hazard inspections and promote safe work practices throughout the property.
  • Handle mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Maintain order in the hotel while ensuring the safety and welfare of guests and team members.
  • Conduct routine patrols and walkthroughs of the hotel, monitoring suspicious activity or safety hazards.
  • Assist guests with room access and address guest concerns related to safety or security.
  • Respond to emergencies including fire, safety hazards, accidents, or threats to life and property.
  • De-escalate guest disturbances and escort individuals from the property when necessary.
  • Assist with investigations, gather information, and complete required reports while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Support guests and employees during emergency situations.
  • Arrive on time and work scheduled shifts as posted.
  • Maintain professional appearance and follow uniform guidelines.
  • Uphold Hilton brand standards and attend required training sessions.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the overall hotel team to exceed guest expectations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all quality assurance and safety standards.
