The position involves performing routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery. The technician will be responsible for replacing or repairing parts on machines, including bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges, and switches, as well as other electrical parts and equipment. The role requires observing and listening to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble, dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, and examining the form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. The technician will also inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments, repair or replace defective parts, and install special functional and structural parts in devices. Additionally, the technician will initiate purchase orders for parts and machines, lubricate and clean parts, and start devices to test their performance. Participation in an on-call program may be required, along with working additional hours as needed. Following all safety rules and procedures is essential to ensure a safe working environment.
