About The Position

We are looking for a dependable Building Maintenance Technician to join our facilities management team. In this role, you inspect the property to identify necessary repairs. Whenever possible, you complete the repairs yourself or with other members of our maintenance team. Our ideal candidate has some carpentry experience and is knowledgeable about various hand and power tools. You may also be asked to perform maintenance on our plumbing, AC or electrical system, so any experience in these areas is a major plus. As part of our maintenance team, you should feel comfortable assisting with landscaping and cleaning tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have 3-5 years of relevant experience in preforming in depth facilities and fleet repairs.
  • Must be quality minded in any task that is assigned.
  • Must pass a Level 2 Background.
  • Must have a valid Florida Drivers License with a 3-year clean MVR.
  • Able to lift at least 75 pounds.
  • Able to twist, stoop, bend, reach, pull, climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periods of up to 6 hours per day.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment local and Level II Background check.
  • Must be able to respond to emergencies, such as security issues, vehicle breakdowns, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Challenge Enterprises of North Florida, Inc. policies and procedures as set forth in the Board of Directors approved Employee Handbook.
  • Complete maintenance request as assigned by Facilities Manager.
  • Responsible for maintenance of all Challenge Enterprises properties, changing a/c filters, replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, painting, grounds maintenance, light plumbing, electrical and other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for maintaining storage areas, to be always kept organized and clean.
  • Responsible for maintaining all safety devices such as fire extinguishers, safety guards on equipment and vehicles.
  • Must follow chain of command.
  • Coordinate with the Facilities and Fleet Manager to secure tools and supplies necessary to complete projects.
  • Must be able to work inside as well as outside of the year-round.
  • Must have self-motivating skills and the ability to work alone as well as with others.
  • Must be able to use and understand the use of a cell phone.
  • Must be able to take and understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to drive all vehicles currently within our agency fleet.
  • Must be available for on-call emergencies after hours (nights and weekends, paid for a 2-hour minimum) when needed.
  • Provide support during Project Managers absence.
  • Willing to work scheduled assigned until completed.
  • No overtime unless pre-approved by Facility Manager
  • Other task as assigned.
