The Maintenance III / Master Electrician must hold and maintain a master electrician license while directly reporting to the Trade's Supervisor and Director of Facilities. The master electrician will oversee electrical and fire alarm systems and vendors, work with the installation and maintenance of electrical and fire protection systems on campus as well as general work orders. In addition to daily electrical responsibilities, the master electrician may be required to supervise seasonal employees and student workers. The master electrician will also oversee contractors and heavily interact with other trades personnel. This position will be required to participate in snow removal operations, rotating on-call schedule and other maintenance capacities as needed and noted.

Requirements

  • NH Master Electrician's license required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as Master Electrician in commercial environment.
  • Must have valid NH driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, maintain, install, and troubleshoot electrical systems at the college.
  • Inspect and certify that work is done in compliance with state and local code.
  • Work on electrical related issues and equipment throughout the campus.
  • Heavily interact with Trades Supervisor and Director of Facilities on projects and resolving any problems.
  • Plan, estimate, and commission new installations or renovations of electrical and energy management controls and equipment.
  • Work with sub-contractors on major upgrades, repairs, renovations, and office reconfigurations while maintaining health and safety standards as well as code compliance.
  • Assist in training of new personnel as well as support other team members with completion of work orders when necessary.
  • Check on fire alarm systems on a daily basis to ensure that equipment is running to the highest standard. Troubleshoot and program when necessary.
  • Mandatory on call for snow and working with snow crew in the winter, plowing with CSC equipment, shoveling and salting walkways, and clearing roofs/roof scuppers when necessary.
  • Work, troubleshoot and complete other work-related issues in Facilities Management.
  • Complete all assigned Facilities Management work orders and preventive maintenance work orders.
  • Make general maintenance repairs change light bulbs, plunge toilets, change ceiling tiles, paint, light carpentry, light plumbing, some knowledge of heating systems, event set-ups and any other tasks assigned.
