About The Position

Repair and maintain mechanical equipment including servicing, repairing, adjusting, inspecting and testing. Repair and maintain facilities, including electrical and HVAC. Coach and mentor Maintenance Technician Assistant and Maintenance Technicians I. Work under limited supervision of the Maintenance Manager. •Inspect, repair, refurbish, monitor, test, dismantle and reassemble machinery and equipment using various hand and power tools •Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions •Routinely inspect electrical equipment, wiring and other components to ensure adherence to code and safety requirements •Test electrical systems using voltmeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters •Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment or components, to include reviewing of blueprints to understand requirements •Install, maintain and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment to include identifying maintenance risks, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and ensuring compliance with EPA standards •Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary •Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices •Assist the Maintenance Manager with contacting and scheduling vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies that are outside the scope of routine maintenance •Assist with maintaining and monitoring a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when next service is due Coach and mentor Maintenance Technicians I and Maintenance Tech Assistant •Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, and any applicable local, state or federal and state regulations •Communicate effectively with persons outside and inside HPF via email, phone and in face to face meetings Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships •Make decisions and solve problems through analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager •Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining and entering information in VET •Follow all company safety rules, company rules, policies and procedures as well as any applicable work instructions, specifications and requirements •Participate in 6S activities daily •Log into and out of systems correctly for timekeeping and job data

Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent or equivalent combination of experience/education
  • 5 or more years of related experience
  • Experience with electrical systems up to 500 volts
  • Experience with HVAC systems
  • Advanced building and construction knowledge (materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and production facilities, to include knowledge of repair and servicing for refrigeration and AC units and electrical systems up to 500 volts)
  • Basic knowledge in coaching and developing others
  • Advanced knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical systems to include energized circuits, electrical components and transformers as well as knowledge of local codes and National Electric Codes
  • Basic knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions
  • Time management skills
