Job Requirements: Engage in repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, equipment and in maintenance of buildings, grounds and utility systems of a manufacturing plant or other establishment by performing the following duties personally or through other subordinates.

Requirements

  • Education: Vocational Technical Degree in plant maintenance minimum or 5+ years minimum experience in plant maintenance
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registration: Forklift, NEC Electrical
  • Have experience with the following: Hydraulics electrical wiring (110, 220, 480) water pumps industrial burners tig welding, stick welding, and mig welding industrial air compressors carpentry skills knowledge of gas applications.
  • Qualified electrician is beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Works on work order requests from production floor and determines priority
  • Follows all safety and good manufacturing processes
  • Communicate to production and quality assurance equipment break downs and estimated time needed to complete repairs.
  • Communicate updates to incoming maintenance personnel on status of break downs, repairs and troubleshooting done during the previous shift.
  • Observes and listens to sounds of mechanical devices in operation to locate any signs of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Repairs or replaces effective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment and machinery.
  • Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications.
  • Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, saws and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
  • Repairs electrical equipment, including PC controllers.
  • Maintains a flexible schedule to accommodate variable shifts from 8 – 12 hrs. depending on maintenance workload.
  • Available for on - call status.
  • Participates and trains with the Safety Team.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
