About The Position

Under limited supervision, set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality. Please note that this is a 3rd shift position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience with conveyor, automation, or equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment.
  • Fabrication maintenance experience.
  • Basic skill level in multiple computer software packages including Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems and ability to troubleshoot these systems.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment as it is brought on-line.
  • Ability to continuously ascend and descend from ladders and stairs, work at heights and/or from a ladder, work from a lying down position, work with your hands above your head.
  • Willing to operate material handling equipment (i.e. fork truck).
  • Ability to write documents and reports using writing instruments and computers.
  • Ability to read information, often in small print (drawings).
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures such as Lock Out/Tag Out, and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an apprenticeship program or hold current trade certification.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a building maintenance position.
  • Process RO, still & boilers experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on assigned conveyors, automation, and ancillary equipment as needed.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting of assigned out of service equipment and correct issues, act as an escalation point for lower level technicians, and escalate to leadership and/or more senior technicians as needed.
  • Record all maintenance issues in maintenance log for each line.
  • Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ticketing systems as appropriate and maintain accurate records of all operating logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems that are tested on a routine basis.
  • Perform root cause analysis of major downtime events.
  • Assist maintenance mechanics in work that requires two people or when operational needs demand.
  • Perform facility/building project work as assigned, including light bulb/ballast replacement, door repairs, furniture installation, ceiling tile replacement, carpentry duties, plumbing repairs and maintaining operation logs.
  • Assemble and test equipment to verify correct operation and production.
  • Analyze and record cause of production delays on daily production reports and initiate procedures to solve equipment malfunctions.
  • Examine defects and analyze spoilage causes and, where possible, take corrective action and verify the corrective action has eliminated the problems.
