About The Position

This position will work with and support all Hyland Hills maintenance operations. The facility assignment will be determined by the Executive Staff and is expected to change seasonally. Once assigned direct supervision will come from the facility managers and their management teams. This position will primarily be responsible to perform general maintenance of district enterprise facilities but could be assigned to any district facility helping to assure they are kept in good condition and operating efficiently.

Requirements

  • Must have working knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in facilities and ground maintenance work.
  • Must have ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must have the ability to work under minimal supervision and assume responsibility for task initiative and completion.
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other District staff and the public.
  • Must have the ability to make sound decisions and use good judgment in stressful situations.
  • Must have the ability to learn the use and operation of any equipment necessary for the performance of duties as designated by his supervisor.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week as required as well as be available on weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends on a limited basis.
  • Must be able to work at indoor and outdoor temperatures, extreme heat & cold. Environmental conditions encountered will include noise, fumes, odors and dust.
  • Must be familiar with construction sites and the risks associated therein.
  • Work hours are adjusted seasonally and could start as early as 5:00am and could work as late as 9:00pm.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in maintenance and/or construction.
  • Must possess a current and valid Colorado driver's license.
  • Some knowledge in the various aspects of grounds and building maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Attraction preparation includes washing, cleaning, waxing, painting and set-up.
  • Building/facility general maintenance including cleaning, minor repair, painting, updating, and assisting with larger projects/construction.
  • Responsible for assisting in maintenance of a variety of equipment used in all phases of facility operations.
  • Responsible for ground maintenance including, mowing, trimming, weeding, watering, golf course set up and other grounds maintenance/construction duties as assigned.
  • Ability to operate trucks and other vehicles when necessary to transport equipment from one location to another within the district.
  • Assist in pool maintenance rotation schedule and emergency fill in (May-Mid August)
  • Expected to work closely with senior staff to complete all types of pool/water quality maintenance tasks including cleaning screens, filters, pump replacement and maintenance/repair of all operational equipment.
  • Assist with set-up/maintenance of holiday lights including snow removal.
  • Assist other staff members in completion of assigned tasks and projects throughout the district as assigned.
