Under limited supervision, set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality. The position is for 3rd Shift, from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on assigned conveyors, automation, robotics and ancillary equipment as needed.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting of assigned out of service equipment and correct issues.
  • Act as an escalation point for lower level technicians, and escalate to leadership and/or more senior technicians as needed.
  • Record all maintenance issues in maintenance log for each line.
  • Read electrical schematics and blue prints.
  • Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ticketing systems as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of all operating logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems that are tested on a routine basis.
  • Perform root cause analysis of major downtime events.
  • Assist maintenance mechanics in work that requires two people or when operational needs demand.
  • Perform facility/building project work as assigned, including light bulb/ballast replacement, door repairs, furniture installation, ceiling tile replacement, carpentry duties, plumbing repairs, and maintaining operation logs.
  • Assemble and test equipment to verify correct operation and production.
  • Analyze and record cause of production delays on daily production reports and initiate procedures to solve equipment malfunctions.
  • Examine defects and analyze spoilage causes, taking corrective action and verifying the corrective action has eliminated the problems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience with conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment.
  • Basic skill level in multiple computer software packages including Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems and ability to troubleshoot these systems.
  • Willing to travel at least/up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
  • Physical ability to frequently move, lift, carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours for up to 6 days a week.
  • Ability to continuously ascend and descend from ladders and stairs, work at heights and/or from a ladder, work from a lying down position, work with hands above head.
  • Willing to operate material handling equipment (i.e. fork truck).
  • Ability to write documents and reports using writing instruments and computers.
  • Ability to read information, often in small print (drawings).
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures such as Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc. and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment.
  • Associates Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an apprenticeship program or hold current trade certification.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a building maintenance position servicing a facility larger than 75,000 square feet.
