Responsible for the installation, inspection, operation, repair and preventative maintenance of facilities and mechanical systems for hospital buildings and according to established schedules. The Mechanic Specialist’s work involves the skills of two or more craft occupations, such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, stationary engineering/boiler operating , and/or carpentry. Essential Functions Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Monitor, inspect, operate , and test machinery and equipment across hospital’s HVAC, plumbing, electrical and/or boiler operation systems to diagnose machine malfunctions and maintain systems’ working order. Reads thermometers and gages and records readings. Conducts and oversees repairs and upgrades to above hospital systems as needed . Estimates and orders materials needed for work projects. Possesses working knowledge of other trades to ensure coordination of work projects. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures . Completes rounding to identify and resolve regulatory compliance definiciencies . Assists and/or performs the work of trade other maintenance technicians and teams as needed.
