About The Position

The Feed Mill Maintenance position supervises and coordinates activities of skilled trade workers engaged in maintaining and repairing equipment, structures, and utilities. The role involves overseeing major projects, performing structural, building, utility, electrical, and equipment repairs, and ensuring that all work meets specifications and guidelines. The supervisor prepares work schedules, assigns work orders, and maintains time management while communicating company policies and guidelines. Additionally, the position requires analyzing and assisting in solving work problems, maintaining production equipment to meet organizational standards, and ensuring minimum equipment downtime. The supervisor also communicates equipment and supply needs, maintains preventive maintenance programs, and administers training programs for proper operations and safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Trade School preferred.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience.
  • Must be able to work in high places (heights up to 200 ft), all weather conditions and confined spaces.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs up to 40 feet high.
  • Must be able to work with hand tools.
  • Must be able to weld/fabricate when needed.
  • Must be able to work in loud, dusty, and dirty environments.
  • Must be able to lift 55 lb. bags and carry across work floor.
  • Must be able to work with arms over head and/or swing hammer for extended periods of time.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel).
  • SAP program experience preferred.
  • Feed Mill maintenance experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work weekends on shut downs and repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Engaged in major projects, performing structural, building, utility, electrical and equipment repairs.
  • Installing, servicing, and repairing mechanical equipment.
  • Inspects completed work to ensure it meets specifications and guidelines.
  • Prepares work schedules, assigns work orders, and maintains time management.
  • Communicates company policies and guidelines.
  • Analyzes and assists in solving work problems.
  • Maintains production equipment in a manner that meets organization standards and ensures minimum equipment downtime.
  • Communicates equipment and supplies needs.
  • Maintains preventive maintenance programs and procedures.
  • Administers training programs to ensure proper operations, preventive maintenance, and repair programs and procedures.
  • Administers all safety training programs and record keeping for feed mill employees.
  • Maintains all preventive maintenance records.
  • Follows and enforces all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to operate control system throughout mill.
