About The Position

The Maintenance Technician I position at Ingersoll Rand involves performing routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, ensuring operational efficiency and minimizing downtime. The role requires a strong mechanical and electrical background, with responsibilities including troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining various machine control and power transmission components. The technician will also be involved in preventive maintenance programs and will need to maintain clear communication with supervisors and production teams regarding equipment status.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machines.
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical and/or electronic and mechanical maintenance including motors, controls, and PLCs.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical parts manuals.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools including drills, saws, and torches.

Responsibilities

  • Lubricate machinery, change parts, or perform other routine machinery maintenance.
  • Actively involved in preventive maintenance program to achieve machine goals.
  • Use precision measuring and testing instruments to ensure machine accuracy.
  • Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair all types of machine control components including motor drives, controllers, sensors, and switches.
  • Locate root cause of problems using troubleshooting methods to ensure permanent repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair power transmission components including drives, bearings, gears, and belts.
  • Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems including tanks, pumps, valves, and cylinders.
  • Perform installation, service, and repairs to buildings, facilities, and grounds including doors, windows, and air handling units.
  • Provide proper record keeping and documentation for machine and repair files.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors and production regarding equipment status and repairs.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock and placing orders.
