About The Position

Under limited supervision, set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality. The position involves carrying out preventive maintenance and routine inspections on assigned conveyors, automation equipment, robotics, and auxiliary equipment as necessary. It also includes troubleshooting and correcting issues with assigned equipment that is out of service, acting as a mediator in the referral process between lower-level technicians and higher instances, and documenting all maintenance issues in the maintenance log for each line. Additionally, the role requires documenting all work in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and maintaining accurate records of all operational logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other systems subjected to routine testing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience with conveyors, automation equipment, or robotic equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of equipment or machinery.
  • Basic skill level in various computer programs, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with PLC inputs, outputs, and logic systems, and the ability to troubleshoot these.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time for business (in-state and out-of-state).
  • Must provide necessary hand tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or equivalent.
  • Graduated from an apprenticeship program or have a current trade certification.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a building maintenance position in facilities over 75,000 square feet.
  • Physical dexterity to squat, twist, stretch, push, and lift daily for extended periods.
  • Ability to move, lift, transport supplies or equipment up to 50 pounds frequently; may occasionally need to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for a minimum of eight hours and up to 12 hours for a maximum of six days a week.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts).
  • Ability to write documents and reports using writing instruments and computers.
  • Ability to read information, often in small print (drawings).
  • Ability to follow proper safety procedures, such as lockout/tagout, arc flash, etc., and use personal protective equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on assigned conveyors, automation equipment, robotics, and auxiliary equipment as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues with assigned equipment that is out of service.
  • Act as a mediator in the referral process between lower-level technicians and higher instances.
  • Document all maintenance issues in the maintenance log for each line.
  • Document all work in the CMMS and maintain accurate records of operational logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of major downtime events.
  • Assist maintenance mechanics in jobs requiring two people or as operational needs dictate.
  • Perform project-related work in facilities or buildings as assigned, including replacing lamps or ballasts, repairing doors, installing furniture, replacing ceiling tiles, carpentry work, plumbing repairs, and maintaining operational records.
  • Mount and test equipment to verify proper operation and production.
  • Analyze and document the cause of production delays in daily production reports and initiate procedures to resolve equipment malfunctions.
