About The Position

National Vision is seeking a Maintenance Technician 1 to join the growing team at our optical manufacturing facility in Plano, TX. This entry-level position is responsible for servicing and maintaining equipment in the production lab. The shift for this role is 2nd, with hours from Sundays to Thursdays, 4:00 pm to 12:30 am. The position offers competitive base pay, an extra 10% shift differential pay, bi-weekly bonus opportunities, and a great PTO plan along with other benefits.

Requirements

• 1 year previous experience in industrial or facility maintenance
• Experience in manufacturing industry equipment preferable
• Mechanically inclined, ability to utilize various tools and general maintenance understanding
• Must be able to read and write English

Responsibilities

• Preventative Maintenance on equipment, maintaining PM checklists
• Handling work orders to resolve machine issues and minimize production down time
• Servicing CNC Edgers and Generators: cleaning, performing routine tasks, changing or fixing parts and recalibrating
• Maintaining Edgers and Blockers: keep filters and components clean, change cutters, checks for prism and axis
• Servicing other equipment and systems in the lab
• Follow all safety rules, 'Lock out / Tag out' procedures and utilize PPE if required
• Generally assist maintenance team, senior maintenance technicians, help with routine tasks, maintenance housekeeping in work areas and other tasks as assigned
