About The Position

Responsible for general upkeep and maintenance of facilities and grounds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), preferred.
  • a minimum of 4 years of commercial building maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to read general business contracts.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems involving a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Willingness to learn new skills as needed to perform job functions.
  • Willingness to cross-train with other departments and team members.
  • Ability to prioritize work, be detail-oriented, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Makes minor repairs of equipment, furnishings, and plumbing.
  • Maintains lawn in conjunction with contract lawn crew.
  • Replaces lights as needed.
  • Keeps facility clean in conjunction with contract cleaning crew.
  • Paints interior areas, as needed.
  • Maintains air and heat system in conjunction with contract AC/Heating service.
  • Performs transportation requirements, as needed, i.e. pick-up supplies, donations, clients, etc.
  • Ensure services delivered as in line with the Nexus Mission and Values
