About The Position

The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating the general maintenance activities within the organization. This includes overseeing the maintenance of buildings, equipment, and machinery to ensure their optimal functionality. The Maintenance lead will lead a team of staff performing a variety of maintenance tasks such as mechanical and electrical applications, technical projects and upgrades, and technical training. This position requires strong organizational and leadership skills to estimate work hours, prepare schedules, assign tasks, and inspect completed work to ensure high-quality standards are met. - TRAINING IS ON 1ST SHIFT

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, facilities management) required
  • 3–5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or facilities environment
  • 1–3+ years in a supervisory or leadership role, overseeing maintenance teams
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems
  • Familiarity with blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and oversee repairs
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train and mentor maintenance staff
  • Capable high-pressure or emergency situations
  • Ability to schedule and prioritize maintenance work
  • Experience managing budgets, inventories, and vendor relationships
  • Skilled in maintaining accurate maintenance records and reports

Responsibilities

  • Drives Safety awareness, Lock-Out Tag-Out, Arc Flash, ergonomics, and PPE.
  • Supervises a team of maintenance staff, ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Work as a technical leader and decision maker
  • Coordinate and assign work orders to staff members based on their skills and expertise, balancing workloads and meeting deadlines.
  • Lead the planning and scheduling of routine and emergency maintenance tasks for buildings, equipment, and machinery.
  • Train, mentor, and develop maintenance staff to improve skills and enhance their performance in various maintenance areas.
  • Ensure staff are adequately trained in shop equipment and use of special tools.
  • Support the development of staff by identifying opportunities for professional growth and certification within the maintenance field.
  • Estimate the number of hours and resources needed to complete maintenance tasks, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, ensuring that preventive maintenance activities are carried out as needed.
  • Prioritize tasks based on urgency, importance, and available resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including materials used, hours worked, and any issues encountered during maintenance tasks.
  • Report on maintenance activities, track performance metrics, and recommend process improvements to senior management.
  • Oversee inventory management for maintenance tools, supplies, and parts, ensuring that necessary resources are available.
  • Inspect completed maintenance work to ensure it meets company standards for quality, safety, and functionality.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to staff to ensure continuous improvement in the maintenance process.
  • Ensure that repairs and maintenance are completed in compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
