About The Position

The Maintenance Team Lead supports the Maintenance Supervisor by executing the daily maintenance plan, ensuring that work assigned by the Supervisor is carried out safely, efficiently, and to company standards. The Team Lead provides direction to maintenance technicians on the floor, determines who takes lead on service calls, and offers technical guidance when troubleshooting issues. This role is also responsible for promoting adherence to company policies, supporting 5S and housekeeping within the shop, and ensuring maintenance areas are left clean after jobs are completed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Beginner to Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and in the use of e-mail, web browser applications.
  • Intermediate-advanced math skills.
  • Strong analytical, planning skills and critical thinking ability required with orientation for continuous improvement.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written technical procedures/instructions.
  • Ability to effectively read and interpret complex electrical and hydraulic prints and technical documentation such as manuals, procedures, etc.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Highly effective, articulate communication skills (verbal & written) with strong interpersonal effectiveness and the ability to work with all levels in the organization and across cultures.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the daily maintenance plan as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Diagnose electrical issues on manufacturing equipment through detail analysis of electrical schematics.
  • Diagnose hydraulic issues on manufacturing equipment through detail analysis of hydraulic schematics.
  • Direct and coordinate maintenance technicians on the floor, assigning service call leads and providing guidance during task execution.
  • Support projects by coordinating technician activities, ensuring alignment with Supervisor instructions.
  • Provide technical assistance when maintenance technicians encounter complex problems or troubleshooting challenges.
  • Ensure maintenance technicians adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor and support 5S standards in the maintenance shop and on the floor, ensuring work areas are properly cleaned and organized after jobs.
  • Oversee the proper maintenance and repair of presses, auxiliary equipment, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, reporting updates and concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Escalate performance or compliance issues in a timely manner.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
