Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Maintenance or facilities management experience within retail, convenience store, or multi-site environments
  • Prior leadership and project management experience
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, petroleum equipment, and general facility repair
  • Experience creating and managing operating and capital budgets
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to store locations up to 50 percent of the time
  • Relevant certifications preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a maintenance team of up to 25 team members through coaching and performance management.
  • Oversee day-to-day maintenance department operations with consistent support to store locations.
  • Manage maintenance expense and capital budgets, including cost tracking, variance analysis, forecasting, and regular reporting to leadership.
  • Oversee vendor relationships by negotiating pricing, managing contracts, resolving service issues, and conducting semi-annual vendor reviews.
  • Develop and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime, reduce costs, and support store profitability.
  • Review, verify, code, and approve maintenance invoices within delegated authority to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify, plan, and manage special and capital maintenance projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to company standards.
  • Partner with Regional Directors of Operations and conduct site visits as needed to support field execution and address maintenance concerns.
  • Support annual budget planning and long-term asset management strategies.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and retain maintenance team members.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams, vendors, and external partners to ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Perform additional duties that support the continued success of the region and facilities team.
