About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor (Elevators and Escalators) II oversees an assigned group of subordinate employees engaged in the testing and acceptance of New York City Transit elevators and escalators. This position requires comfort with walking and performing duties on elevators (shafts, pits, machine rooms) and escalators. Responsibilities include conducting elevator and escalator tests, managing material and spare parts distribution, inventory, and storage as required. The supervisor will schedule and assign tasks to ensure project schedules are met and product quality is maintained. Additionally, the role involves conducting inspection reviews, preparing reports, and coordinating work with other MTA groups. The supervisor must ensure that safety protocols are followed in the working environment and coordinate all Access & Protection tasks involving E&E equipment. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to meet departmental requirements.

Requirements

  • Five years of full-time satisfactory experience in installation, tests, maintenance, and repair projects.
  • At least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Familiarity with NYCT policies and procedures, related codes, safety, and processes.
  • Five years' experience conducting inspections and tests.
  • Proficiency in EAM, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Schedule and assign supervisors and employees to various jobs to meet project schedules.
  • Conduct inspection reviews and prepare reports.
  • Coordinate work with other MTA groups (C&D, communication, Architecture, Mechanical, etc.).
  • Compile and analyze testing documentation.
  • Schedule and process tasks for training and licensing requirements.
  • Ensure that working environment safety protocols are followed.
  • Coordinate and schedule all Access & Protection tasks involving E&E equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as required to meet departmental needs.
