About The Position

The Maintenance Manager is an integral part of the American Products Manufacturing Management team. The Maintenance team works together to ensure all equipment is in good working order and the facilities are kept nice, clean, and operable. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily maintenance and repair to all equipment, machinery, tools, and the general facilities that house American Products and its subsidiaries. The Maintenance Manager is expected to work alongside the maintenance team members to promptly address equipment and machinery issues while encouraging the growth and development of the team members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; some formal Industrial Maintenance education strongly preferred; not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading maintenance teams, preferably in an Industrial environment.
  • Ability to operate metalworking tools such as lathe, drill press, and grinder to make or repair parts and can also weld.
  • Requires interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with a wide variety of internal personnel.
  • Must be able to interact professionally, appropriately, and courteously with team members, suppliers, and customers.
  • Some travel may be required for this position.
  • The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and must be able to talk and hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
  • You must observe safety procedures and use equipment and materials properly; wear safety glasses and steel toe boots.

Responsibilities

  • Leads maintenance team with curiosity, positivity, and a focus on safety, to ensure proactive outcomes
  • Works with the Production Management team to ensure minimal disruption in production activities including occasional weekend or off-shift work.
  • Oversees preventative maintenance program with a high degree of accountability.
  • Mentors and guides maintenance team for consistent skill and professional growth.
  • Leads janitorial team with pride for keeping our facility clean and safe.
  • Utilizes a variety of troubleshooting methods to locate causes of malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with third party service providers to maximize up time for all equipment and machinery.
  • Proficient in industrial equipment and machinery repairs and maintenance.
  • Actively demonstrates and promotes a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
