About The Position

Manage and coordinate all building maintenance, building repairs, and general appearance of the Ayers building and grounds. The Maintenance Supervisor oversees special projects and renovations. Manage and coordinate all building maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of the Ayers Building and surrounding grounds located in Innovation District. Plan and schedule work for assigned staff members, ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate staffing levels. Establish and update maintenance standards, priorities, and project records. Work and supervise work performed by outside vendors and general contractors. Guide, train, and give technical assistance to employees engaged in daily operations, maintenance tasks and projects. Inspect completed assignments to ensure that satisfactory work has been completed. Review and update building maintenance specifications based on the best use of personnel, budget constraints, and industry practices. Establish equipment and supply maintenance budgets and assure accountability. Initiate purchase of supplies, services, tools, and equipment in accordance with established purchasing procedures. Plan, develop, and manage efficient, economical preventive maintenance of tools and equipment, including schedules and activities to ensure prolonged life, usefulness, assigned to and safety of equipment to minimize breakdowns, failures, and hazards. Participate in the office department computerized work management system and utilize pertinent management reports to evaluate and improve system maintenance and operational performance and recommends any deferred maintenance items. Ensure maintenance staff and external service technicians are properly trained and updated in proper maintenance/operations practices, safety, and regulatory issues. Provide an employee support system for improved production and efficiency. Provide performance feedback to employees regarding performance and the results of equipment inspections. Valid Class E Operator driver license is Required. Successful completion of UF Supervisory Challenge required NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: - Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. - Schedule may vary due to projects, emergencies, or on-call/stand-by (as required) - Classified as “Essential Personnel”

Requirements

  • Completion of an approved apprenticeship program in a recognized trade and relevant experience to total five years; or a high school diploma or equivalent and five years of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
  • Valid Class E Operator driver license is Required.
  • Successful completion of UF Supervisory Challenge required
