About The Position

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, with a proven track record in managing teams in a manufacturing environment, enhancing equipment reliability, and driving operational excellence. You will lead diverse teams that include technical and non-technical staff, key support contractors, and operations personnel to achieve these goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee safety, quality, and line efficiency for your shift.
  • Run daily maintenance meetings to keep everyone aligned.
  • Guide execution plans in the maintenance & repair cell, while coaching the team and offering training when needed.
  • Help recruit new mechanics and take part in interviews.
  • Work with union representatives to maintain a positive environment and handle conflicts respectfully.
  • Support shift leads and build team capabilities by making sure employees have the right tools, skills, and opportunities to grow.
  • Make sure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are followed in tooling and workshop areas.
  • Manage and develop PM Technicians, focusing on talent growth.
  • Drive efforts to reduce mean time to repair (MTTR).
  • During unplanned stops, take the lead on decisions and countermeasures to get production running again quickly and safely.
  • Afterwards, share feedback and document key learnings.
  • Build a full understanding of operations and processes to improve decision-making in any business situation.
  • Take the lead on preventive maintenance (PM) during the shift, handling all types of planned and unplanned work (run-time maintenance, if-down-do maintenance, and preventive maintenance).
  • Provide timely feedback from PM activities to keep SAP maintenance plans accurate and up to date.
  • Focus on safety and quality first — prioritize and execute PM tasks that address abnormalities.
  • Lead small group PM activities on critical equipment, work with subject matter experts, and identify training needs for technicians and operators.
  • Support breakdown analysis and help implement fixes that improve overall line performance.
  • Ensure on-time start-ups by prioritizing line readiness based on production needs, avoiding delays, and being the go-to contact for maintenance support.
  • Proactive optimization of cost-effective Maintenance and Reliability (M&R) in support of lean manufacturing principles and business deliverables, as well as providing technical training opportunities for all associates to increase skill and knowledge bases for a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Proactively evaluates and leads refinement of overall equipment reliability plans, strategies, equipment performance and root cause analysis effectiveness.
  • Ensures all employees under his/her direction clearly understand all safety rules and regulations, appropriate training has been received, and work performance is in accordance with applicable regulations.
