About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading, coordinating, and overseeing all hourly maintenance and tooling personnel to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment and facility support systems. This role emphasizes execution, workforce leadership, and cross-functional coordination to support production goals and overall business objectives. While strong hands-on technical knowledge is required, this position functions primarily as a leadership and coordination role rather than a performing trade position. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures maintenance activities are planned, prioritized, and executed in accordance with safety, quality, and reliability standards. The Maintenance Supervisor directly supervises and coordinates the work of hourly maintenance and support personnel, which may include Maintenance Technicians (Maintenance B, A, AA, AAA), Tool & Die Technicians (Tool Maker B, A, AA, AAA), Maintenance Planner, Tool Crib Attendant, Hazardous Materials Technician, and Outside contractors and service providers, as required.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Solid working knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound decision-making ability aligned with company policies and operational goals.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience, including demonstrated leadership or supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, assign, and prioritize daily maintenance and tooling activities to support production schedules and minimize downtime.
  • Lead, coach, and evaluate hourly maintenance and tooling personnel to build technical capability and accountability.
  • Communicate clear expectations regarding priorities, work standards, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate activities across shifts and trades to ensure continuity and efficient use of resources.
  • Partner with production leadership to align maintenance efforts with operational needs and constraints.
  • Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with established standards.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and response to equipment failures and unplanned downtime events.
  • Support equipment startups, changeovers, and post-maintenance verification activities.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner to execute planned work and improve schedule compliance.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety policies.
  • Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture, including proper lockout/tagout and safe work practices.
  • Ensure maintenance and tooling work meets quality, workmanship, and documentation standards.
  • Address unsafe conditions and near misses; participate in incident investigations and corrective action development.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Planner to improve wrench time, backlog management, and equipment reliability.
  • Monitor maintenance performance metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for recurring equipment issues.
  • Provide input on equipment condition, reliability risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate on-site contractor activities and ensure compliance with plant safety and work standards.
  • Participate in capital projects, equipment upgrades, and facility modifications.
  • Support tooling and equipment improvement initiatives in collaboration with engineering and corporate resources.
  • Communicate equipment status, operational risks, and resource needs to the Plant Manager and Corporate Facility Engineering Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records related to maintenance activities, work orders, and personnel performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
