About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor at the newly built Long Beach Amphitheater (opening June 6, 2026) is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance operations and physical condition of the facility. This role ensures all building systems, equipment, and event-related infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards to support safe and successful operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in maintenance within a multi-use facility, arena, or similar environment
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory experience
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical, and general facility systems
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Knowledge of life safety systems, fire control systems, and building automation systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with staff, clients, and vendors
  • Proficiency in operating maintenance equipment and standard office tools
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials and chemicals
  • Must be able to pass a background check

  • Certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related trades

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and direct maintenance staff in daily operations and event-related activities
  • Support hiring, training, performance management, and development of maintenance team members
  • Oversee maintenance, repair, and operation of building systems including HVAC, electrical, lighting, and plumbing
  • Coordinate and execute event-related setup needs including electrical, water, and air services
  • Monitor building systems during events to ensure proper functionality and safety
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and repair parts
  • Assist in planning and execution of preventative maintenance programs and system upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and applicable regulations
  • Operate and train staff on equipment such as forklifts, boom lifts, and power tools
  • Maintain accurate daily work records and documentation
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to support operational success and guest satisfaction
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
