Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will supervise and coordinate all activities associated with the facilities and equipment in support of production, sanitation, distribution, and safety. Employees in this position may interact with a manager daily to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require a manager’s advance approval, but routine decisions within the general scope of the role may be made independently.

Requirements

  • Required – High school diploma, or GED equivalent
  • Required – 5 years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing
  • Required – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English
  • Required – Ability to write routine quality assurance reports and correspondence in English
  • Required – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Required – Proficiency with all MS Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and compressed air systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial management, production operations management, or equivalent field of study
  • Preferred – 5 years of progressively responsible experience in food/baking industry
  • Preferred – Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees
  • Preferred – English/Spanish bilingual
  • Preferred – Working knowledge of Autonomous Maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance
  • Proficient with RedZone Productivity Suite
  • Proficient with Excel and/or Tableau for dashboard building

Responsibilities

  • Leads site technical team in the areas of equipment reliability, facilities maintenance, coordinated with the systems and controls engineering, planning and inventory management, and plant project/process engineering.
  • Supervises, trains, and mentors. Meet regularly to set goals, give feedback, and monitor progress. Builds and maintains a team of focused and engaged employees
  • Drives plant-wide preventative maintenance programs across all manufacturing functions
  • Develops and tracks KPIs (key Performance Indicators) and reports to plant stakeholders
  • Responsible for keeping process and facilities equipment in operating condition to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production
  • Collaborates with Operations personnel to ensuring efficient production and minimize downtime
  • Develops and improves preventative maintenance programs
  • Maintains spare parts inventory within budget and operational guidelines
  • Evaluates the Preventive Maintenance efficiency by analyzing maintenance costs and equipment downtime
  • Develops and executes plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Builds and maintain working relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Audits the chemical storage policy and procedures to ensure proper labeling and storage.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Enforces Federal, State, City and A.I.B. Health and Safety Standards, including OSHA (State and/or Federal) and Hazardous Material regulations, in keeping with the work process and chemical inventory by location.
  • Acts as a Safety champion, ensuring that team culture embodies a “safety first, safety always” attitude with policies, procedures, and accountability to protect our ‘ohana’s safety
  • Reports all quality and food safety concerns/issues to QA as assigned and outlined in Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Program.
