About The Position

Carteret Management Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations of Jersey Commons, an apartment community located in Winter Haven. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and a strong benefit package. The role involves ensuring the highest level of resident satisfaction, maintaining safety and operational standards, and directing day-to-day administrative functions including scheduling, work assignments, report submission, paperwork, and record-keeping. The supervisor will also perform various hands-on maintenance duties such as diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, exterior structure, and appliances, as well as cleaning and preparing vacant apartments to a market-ready status. Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Prior maintenance experience.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC.
  • Ability to perform general janitorial duties.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers and saws.
  • Ability to safely use various power tools such as hand held drills and circular saws.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with various groups (on-site staff, vendors, residents).

  • Prior Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work to ensure the highest level of resident satisfaction at all times.
  • Ensures the safety, appearance and operational standards established by Carteret Management.
  • Direct and supervise the day-to-day administrative operations of the maintenance functions, including the scheduling and assignment of work, submission of reports, paperwork and record keeping functions in a timely manner.
  • Perform various hands-on maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community, diagnosing problems and making repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, dry walling, painting, exterior structure, appliance repair and cleaning.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of the maintenance functions, including vendor management, submission of reports, paperwork and recordkeeping.
  • Handle service requests for repairs and improvements of vacant apartments to a market-ready status.
