Requirements

  • High school graduate or graduate of a technical school.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in maintenance.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting as well as PLC experience.
  • Experience evaluating and training team members
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to plan and carry out programs in repair or new construction and/or installation.
  • Ability to direct others.
  • Knowledge of record keeping and cost estimating.
  • Knowledge of supplies and equipment used by maintenance department and the care of this equipment.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with others.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct and supervise the maintenance program.
  • Orient, instruct, supervise and work alongside other maintenance personnel.
  • Assigns duties and evaluates work performance.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment for use in department activities.
  • Keep records of work performed and costs involved.
  • Coordinate work of maintenance department with the mill.
  • Advise and consult with management on maintenance and repair needs.
  • Direct and/or perform duties concerned with maintenance of machinery.
  • Be responsible for the care and use of supplies and maintenance equipment used in performance of duties
  • Be able to keep adequate records.
  • Able to take emergency calls and be on call as needed.
  • Able to cooperate with other employees and customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
