Position Summary: Supervises the maintenance workers to ensure and maintain the residences/facilities in a state of good repair.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency diploma; or ten years experience in a progressive or supervisory role in maintenance.
  • Hands-on knowledge of plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems
  • Light construction
  • Valid NYS driver license.

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of maintenance workers.
  • Completes and conducts annual performance appraisals of maintenance workers.
  • Assists the facilities supervisor to ensure that assigned site(s) are in a state of good repair and in compliance with all fire and life safety codes by conducting on-site inspections.
  • Assists facilities supervisor is looking for contractors and vendors to perform work on residences.
  • Responsible for ensuring that emergencies and unsafe conditions at the site(s) are immediately addressed.
  • Maintains inventory reports on all materials used.
  • Prepares work orders and maintains a record of all completed work.
  • Meets weekly with immediate supervisor.
  • Responsible for the storage and inventory of all necessary maintenance equipment and submitting required reports.
  • Required to carry agency communication device.
  • Responsible for assigned agency vehicles having complete mileage log.
  • Responsible for all agency equipment assigned.
  • May be required to complete staff e-time sheets.
  • Checks heating, hot water for leaks, fuel levels, or other signs of wear and tear.
  • Attends certificate and non-certificate classes given on an annual basis.
  • Flexible hours during emergencies such as snow/weather, including weekends.
  • Required to drive to various locations.
  • Keeps appropriate records on all work performed and ensures that all necessary paperwork is timely completed.
  • Participates in ongoing training and attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Responsible for requisitioning necessary tools, supplies, or equipment and responsible for ensuring that the work environment is safe.
  • Required to be on 24-hour call for emergencies.
  • Conducts and reports environmental checklist surveys periodically.
