The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities and staff involved in maintaining the plant food manufacturing equipment for major production lines and supporting utilities and facility in packaging. Duties and Responsibilities: · Direct responsibility for all the hourly staff on all shifts. · Ensure that all equipment is operational and OSHA compliant. Enhance existing maintenance programs/systems for all manufacturing equipment to further reduce plant equipment downtime. · Enhance existing maintenance programs/systems for all manufacturing equipment to further reduce plant equipment down time. · Operate and monitor the refrigeration system, continuously improve processes and procedures by developing and modifying SOP's. · Coordinate purchase orders and maintain necessary inventory of spare parts. Understand and operate within a budget, direct responsibility for R & M and mechanical labor cost. · Achieve and sustain world-class maintenance standards through developing direct reports and associated systems. · Maintain high level of communication with all levels of organization. · Facilitate and participate in necessary training. · Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Skills: · Working knowledge of food processing equipment, equipment supports systems such as pumps, hydraulics, pneumatic systems, electrical and process control systems, and utility systems such as compressed air and industrial waste handling. · Working knowledge in ammonia, refrigeration systems, preventive maintenance programs, and solid knowledge of industrial electricity and associated standards. · Ability to work with/in a diverse work group. Proven/demonstrated project management experience and process improvement ability. Must follow safety standards. Must be PC literate with Microsoft Office programs. Ability to use computerized maintenance systems to track work orders, PM's, & inventory. Able to work in cold & wet environment. · Leadership, problem solving and decision-making skills. · Capable of leading process improvement teams. · Strong leadership, training, analytical and problem-solving skills. · Knowledge of process improvement-lean manufacturing, 5 S, Six-Sigma, Kaizen, etc. · Willing to work weekends. · Working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
