Maintenance Supervisor The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising assigned maintenance staff and overseeing all daily maintenance activities of water and/or wastewater lift stations. Duties include planning, scheduling, and delivery of preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance functions at assigned facilities throughout the community. RESPONSIBILITIES Oversees and co-ordinates the efficient and effective mechanical operation of the Project by: Supervising and directing assigned maintenance staff Ensuring that prescribed maintenance schedules and policies and procedures are followed. Ensuring all preventive and predictive corrective maintenance tasks are completed as scheduled. Ensuring all corrective or emergency repairs are scheduled and completed on a timely basis. Assessing and prioritizing maintenance functions. Working with Project or Plant Manager to improve mechanical systems and benchmark optimal maintenance efficiencies. Implementing improvements to operating systems and procedures including computerized maintenance management and work order programs. Recommending changes in employment, salary and performance ratings for assigned employees. Allocating work and assisting in training personnel. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Excellent written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems Strong general computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint Working knowledge of pumps, motors, equipment and electrical systems typically found in water or wastewater systems Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems Knowledge of water and wastewater operations a plus Strong problem-solving skills and ability to trouble shoot mechanical and electrical systems Supervisory experience in directing maintenance staff EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School degree or equivalent. Completion of an Associate’s Degree program in maintenance technology, 7-10 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or utility setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience desired includes time in a hands-on role servicing pump, motors controls etc.; familiarity with work orders and maintenance management systems, demonstrated ability to direct and prioritize maintenance activities and supervisory experience leading a maintenance team in an industrial or utility setting. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid driver’s license. A CDL is a plus Must have or be able to obtain the following certifications within 12 months of hire: SMRP Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) Vibration ISO CAT I Certification Level 1 Infrared Thermography Certification Machinery Oil Analysis Certification PHYSICAL DEMANDS Requires frequent walking, climbing, stooping, and moving items up to 50lbs.
