About The Position

Fresh Mark is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor for our Massillon Plant. In this position, oversees daily maintenance operations within a food manufacturing plant, ensuring equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and safe working conditions. This role leads a team of maintenance technicians, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and partners closely with production, quality, and sanitation teams to support continuous, efficient operations.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; food or beverage industry preferred.
  • 1-3+ years of supervisory or lead technician experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, and industrial automation systems.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations (GMPs, HACCP, SQF).
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call rotations.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Comfortable working in cold, hot, or humid environments typical of food production.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance technicians across multiple shifts.
  • Assign daily work orders, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support ongoing skill development.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and enforce all facility safety policies.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance (PM) programs to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensure proper functioning of processing, packaging, refrigeration, and utility equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and equipment history.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety standards such as GMP's HACCP, SQF, and FDA/USDA regulations.
  • Support audits by providing documentation and ensuring equipment meets regulatory requirements.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to prevent contamination risks during maintenance work.
  • Collaborate with production teams to prioritize repairs and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when specialized services are required.
  • Assist in planning and executing capital projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through improved processes or equipment upgrades.
