About The Position

Abbott Nutrition Plant in Casa Grande, AZ is seeking a GMP Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor. The GMP Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor is responsible for leading site-wide GMP-focused maintenance and facilities activities, with an emphasis on high-care areas. This role partners closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Quality to ensure timely execution of demand maintenance, strong GMP compliance, and continuous improvement in reliability, safety, and performance. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science, food technology, engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing or plant maintenance environment.
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Experience with project planning tools and scheduling methodologies.
  • Proven experience applying continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the GMP Focus Team to execute and close high-priority demand maintenance and facilities work orders, with a primary focus on high-care areas.
  • Model and promote organizational values through effective leadership, coaching, development, and support of team members.
  • Coordinate shift start-ups and handovers; lead daily shift activities to ensure continuity across multi-shift operations.
  • Actively participate in department and site projects, owning assigned actions through completion.
  • Improve response times for demand maintenance related to leaks, facility defects, and GMP risks in high-care areas.
  • Lead quality assessments and close-out activities for all high-priority GMP-related maintenance work.
  • Partner with Maintenance Planning and Scheduling to develop and execute preventative, predictive, and demand maintenance strategies aligned with GMP requirements.
  • Identify and close gaps in GMP work order processes, driving the team toward more proactive and strategic execution.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to investigate equipment and facility failures, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and equipment/area owners.
  • Manage contractor teams, including contract negotiations and performance oversight.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with external service providers.
  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly GMP meetings; clearly communicate maintenance activities, progress, and risks to site stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly GMP work order backlog reports.
  • Track, trend, and report key performance indicators (KPIs), highlighting accomplishments, improvement opportunities, and planned actions to functional and site leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement across Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and Safety.
  • Follow established escalation and decision-making processes appropriate to the role’s level of accountability.
