About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the maintenance mechanics in conjunction with operations to provide the organization with safe and reliable equipment to meet their needs. They are responsible for supervision of facility maintenance, equipment reliability, and executing all maintenance operations, supporting production. Participate in the coordination of repairs during outages to maintain a safe and effective flow of work to reduce downtime. Provides leadership and supervision of the maintenance teams. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machine operations.

Requirements

  • Must have working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience with a strong background in the repair and maintenance of industrial and manufacturing equipment, including ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, etc.
  • A proven track record of leading teams and developing people.
  • Manufacturing background required.
  • Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Regularly lift, carry, pull and push 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Regularly squat, stoop, bend at waist, turn at waist to complete function above.
  • Requires regular climbing.
  • Monday through Friday
  • 6 AM – 6 PM
  • Occasional overtime and weekends may be required, beyond scheduled hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field strongly preferred
  • Bilingual is strongly preferred (English and Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, organize, and supervise activities of maintenance crews
  • Provides front-line supervisory support for the maintenance crews and management
  • Assists workers in diagnosing malfunction in machinery and equipment
  • Maintain proper inventories of required spares in order to provide efficient operations
  • Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance with a team of mechanical / electrical maintenance staff
  • Use technical knowledge, equipment documentation, safety procedures, and maintenance schedules to follow, improve, and develop preventative and routine maintenance programs
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures designed to eliminate maintenance problems and improve product quality
  • Perform administrative activities such as scheduling crews, completing reports, conducting safety conversations, and complying other reporting as necessary
  • Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the production floor and maintenance department
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
  • Develop a proactive approach to maintenance to anticipate and minimize downtime for equipment
  • Oversees the execution of the preventive maintenance program incorporating daily, weekly, and monthly schedules
