Job Summary Monday - Friday 2pm-10pm Summary: Supervises all maintenance staff. Helps direct repairs, installation and testing of electrical equipment, appliances, air conditioning, refrigeration equipment, and telephone wiring. Does this position require Patient Care? No

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Completion of a high school or equivalent, possession of Valid Master license in the state of Massachusetts in either Electricity, Plumbing, or HVAC refrigeration license.
  • Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in a maintenance position required
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of other individuals to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
  • Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
  • Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
  • Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises all maintenance workers
  • Assigns work orders and PM’s
  • Assists with the interviewing and selection process
  • Trains and in-services general maintenance employees
  • Participates in the disciplinary procedure according to hospital policy
  • Works with all trades within the Facility Department
  • Have a basic knowledge of all trades so that he/she can work to assist and troubleshoot all components of the hospital utility systems
  • Examines and tests such elements of systems as distribution panel, controls, circuit fixtures and motors locate obvious faults, such as blown fuses, short circuits, broken wires, loose connections, and worn motor brushes
