About The Position

A maintenance supervisor oversees the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment, manages a team of technicians, and ensures operations run smoothly and safely. The role includes planning and scheduling work, implementing preventive maintenance programs, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. They are also responsible for tasks such as hiring staff, managing the budget, ordering parts and tools, and maintaining accurate records.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, and hold others accountable
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, GMP practices, and food processing equipment
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and schedules
  • Strong multitasking skills
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work in freezer conditions (as low as -10°F)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with baggers, scales, and packaging systems is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assign daily work, schedule labor, track completion, and monitor workload.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate maintenance mechanics to build a skilled and reliable team.
  • Provide hands-on support when needed to resolve complex breakdowns and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance programs are executed consistently and on schedule.
  • Review work orders for priority, accuracy, and corrective action follow up.
  • Support and approve maintenance upgrades, rebuilds, or modifications to improve reliability.
  • Support technicians in troubleshooting motor controls, drives, PLCs, packaging machinery, and refrigeration systems.
  • Lead root cause analysis and enforce documentation of findings and corrective actions.
  • Maintain high safety awareness and immediately address unsafe conditions or behavior.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, food safety standards, and GMP practices.
  • Recommend upgrades, process improvements, and reliability initiatives that increase uptime and improve production efficiency.
  • Analyze downtime trends to identify recurring issues and drive corrective action.
  • Maintain repair parts availability, verify usage, and control cost.
  • Coordinate work performed by external vendors and contractors to ensure quality execution and proper documentation.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, PM records, repair documentation, and audit documentation.
  • Communicate equipment status, resource needs, and maintenance priorities to Operations and Management.
