About The Position

The Marzetti Company is looking to hire team members who will grow with us on our journey towards world-class operational excellence. The position of Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing the maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the desired quality, quantity and timely maintenance of all production machinery/equipment, physical plant, utilities and grounds in accordance with federal, state and local regulations. Hours: Monday-Friday from 5:00pm-4:00am

Requirements

  • Prior experience supervising a maintenance team
  • Hands on experience troubleshooting machinery/ equipment within a manufacturing or similar industrial environment

Responsibilities

  • Works respectfully with all team members to ensure the Safety, Quality, production and support of our products and goals daily.
  • Practices integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvement and positive interactions with all Team Members and visitors.
  • Actively participatesin Marzetti Operational Excellence, special projects or tasks, and modification programs as needed with prior approval.
  • Actively participatesin department/shift/team meetings and is involved with improvement/resolutions & follow-up.
  • Maintains highest standard of Safety for all functions on an ongoing basis and ensures compliance for self and others to OSHA standards.
  • Performs daily inspection of all PPE required including but not limited to SLIP-RESISTANT/STEEL-TOED SHOES, safety glasses, gloves, shieldsand aprons to ensure good overall condition of items that provide optimal personal safety & protection while working in the facility.
  • Successfully acquiresand maintains Lock Out-Tag Out Certification for machine and safely performs all functions in accordance with OHSA and company requirements and standards.
  • Performs daily inspection of power equipment with proper documentation.
  • As a member of the T. Marzetti Company, completes his/her Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO), corrects issues when identified, and participatesin problem solving.
  • Leads and promotes a strong Food Safety Culture within the facility
  • Completes his/her Behavior Based Quality observations (BBQs), corrects issues when identifiedand participates in problem solving.
  • Ensures compliance with quality, Food Safety Preventive Control (FSPC), FSMA, Food Defense, OSHAand other support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.
  • Reviews, understands, and complies withall applicable SOPs containing Process or Preventive Control monitoring or verification, if trained and designated as a Qualified Individual (QI).
  • Communicateany concerns related to product safety, integrity, quality and legality to management or to the confidential hotline if the need for anonymity is necessary.
  • Promotes integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvementand positive interactions with all Team Members, customers & vendors.
  • Coordinates shift maintenance activities through the supervision of employees to ensure the shift’smaintenance objectives are accomplished in a timely, cost-effective and safe manner.
  • Coordinates the preventative maintenance program to maintainproduction equipment in an efficient, safe operating condition.
  • Responsible for auditscontrols and minimizing the overtime labor costs, maintenance / repair costs and equipment downtime.
  • Oversees corrections and running adjustments of equipment to maximize production capabilities during shift.
  • Coordinates with other department managers to ensure proper coordination of maintenance activities with production and ensure adequate & efficient materials, supplies, & parts inventory control activities and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring scheduling of the maintenance department.
  • Coordinates changeovers of equipment or preventative maintenance according to production schedules.
  • Ensures required maintenance reporting isaccurate and timely.
  • Maintains close working relationships with all departments and responds to deviations from standards immediately.
  • Responsible for &maintains positive employee, corporate and community relations along with appropriate interface with customer service, vendors & contractors.
  • Regular Attendance is requiredin accordance with Company attendance policy and procedures.
  • Perform tasks or responsibilities as assigned by Management.
  • Directly Supervises 2 shifts of 3 technicians
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordinationand results of the maintenance department.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, appraising and terminating employees; planning, assigning and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints/grievances and resolving problems.
