About The Position

This position is responsible for all aspects of plant maintenance coordination, including leading and directing maintenance technicians. The role fosters a well-trained and motivated maintenance staff and assists the Maintenance Manager in directing and coordinating maintenance policies and procedures while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Responsibilities include managing and overseeing preventive maintenance programs and equipment repairs, quickly assessing and resolving issues to minimize production downtime, and ensuring compliance with SQF Quality Management policies, GMP practices, and company maintenance procedures. The position ensures that all maintenance team members understand and follow established quality, safety, and operational standards.

Requirements

  • Lead, direct, evaluate, and train a team of approximately 15 maintenance technicians
  • Measure, monitor, and reduce machine downtime
  • Diagnose basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and electronic (PLC) issues and direct or assist with repairs
  • Promote a “Safety First” culture among maintenance staff
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an effective preventive maintenance program for plant equipment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to listen to and understand information presented by others
  • Basic PLC experience required
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Some weekend work required
  • When visiting job sites, biosecure environments require showering prior to entering facilities. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the company. No jewelry may be worn on job sites except for medical ID jewelry. Team members must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with all avian species, including chickens, ducks, and other birds.
  • The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or college program certificate preferred; or five (5) or more years of related experience and training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a maintenance lead or supervisor with direct reports, including experience directing, evaluating, and training maintenance technicians.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
