About The Position

Under minimal supervision to perform highly diversified duties such as overseeing the activities of the Maintenance Team members. Inspecting the ongoing, completed, and future tasks corresponding to repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance of production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least 1 year of experience in equipment operation or at least 6 months of experience with the equipment used in a packing house
  • possess a valid California driver's license, maintain a clean DMV record, and is able to be insured by the carrier
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish, in speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Must have strong communication skills and be able to read, comprehend, and follow instructions.
  • Additionally, the candidate should be organized and capable of prioritizing tasks.
  • Must be able to interact, work with, and support coworkers
  • must maintain a good attendance and punctuality record
  • must be able to accept constructive criticism
  • must be able to handle stress and control emotions
  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding to fulfill written, oral, or visual instructions

  • The employee is expected to wear required Food Safety gear and personal protection equipment at all times while performing duties and tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide necessary guidance and assistance to Maintenance team members on unscheduled(emergency) repairs of production equipment during production and on scheduled repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Mentoring Mechanics with best practices, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
  • Perform mechanical skills, including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines and equipment.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance to optimize the performance of all packinghouse equipment.
  • Must be able to diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Knowledgeable in the usage of a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Communicate with management regarding mechanical problems and repairs; observe operations to detect malfunctions of the machines and make adjustments or repairs to the machines when needed.
  • Although this position requires full hands-on equipment, the candidate must be able to delegate, put detailed plans together, and maintain PM cycles.
