About The Position

Maintenance Supervisor – JBS Memphis Coordinate installation, maintenance, and repair work. Hire, train, and oversee the prompt repair and ongoing maintenance of facility equipment. Identifies, monitors, and troubleshoots problems. Assures operation of safe and functional sound equipment. Performs repairs and troubleshooting on food processing equipment, including but not limited to: stuffers, vacuum pumps, mixers, grinders, packaging machinery, conveyors, hydraulic units, and multi-vacs. Description ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and other plant equipment. Installs replace belts, filters, gears, chains, and valves. Troubleshoot pneumatic, electric, and hydraulic machine problems and makes necessary repairs. Performs repairs to machines involving machine guarding, bolt replacement, and breakdowns due to mechanical wear. Welds machine components. Performs preventative maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts, drive chains, etc. Handles installations, including hooking up air, water, gas, and the alignment and leveling of equipment. Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules. Acts as a lead by training, mentoring, scheduling, counseling, and providing guidance to less experienced and hourly Maintenance employees. Provides leadership through effective communication and coaching. Aids and support as needed. Ensures a positive work environment exhibiting the company’s culture of respect for all employees. Motivates, corrects, and challenges personnel with a positive approach. Notify Maintenance Manager when problems arise. Maintains open dialogue with the assigned team. When approached with feedback and concerns, resolve them in the most direct and positive way possible. Ensuring all company policies are followed. Completes maintenance recordkeeping. Keeps record of all work performed. Updates maintenance history logs and completes required paperwork. Accounts for equipment used for maintenance and repairs. Understands and follows the company GMP policy. Understands and follows the company safety rules. May be required to work long hours and weekends.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience.
  • Must have experience in a food processing environment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours/shifts as needed.
  • Interested candidates must be able to perform the functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • As a salaried position with the Company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations.
