About The Position

This position is responsible for planning and organizing in all phases of the production process to assure the facility operates in a highly efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Five or more years’ experience supervising in a maintenance department including, demonstrated knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, building maintenance, wastewater treatment, boiler operation and maintenance and refrigeration.
  • Complete understanding of computer driven process controls for a dairy farm.
  • Knowledge in PLC’s/Electrical
  • Strong people and collaboration skills.
  • Verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong commitment and established track record of processes documentation and improvement.
  • Working knowledge of industrial equipment utilization and maintenance in a production facility
  • Fluent in software packages such as MS Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel) and Outlook
  • Familiar with OSHA and EPA Requirements related to maintenance
  • Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Frequently reach up to 77 inches
  • Regularly stand; walk; stoop, sit, kneel, crouch, climb, or crawl
  • Ability to reach and handle objects, tools, or controls
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to observe surroundings, objects, and labels at both close and far distances.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with maintenance team to set and achieve team safety objectives and ensuring maintenance personnel compliance to OSHA USDA, FDA, State, County and Federal Regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement training programs for new maintenance associates to reach max contribution.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to ensure that farm mechanical uptime objectives are met while minimizing maintenance repair expenses.
  • Document maintenance team member performance as appropriate to ensure compliance.
  • Supervise and support the completion of all equipment and facility maintenance activities as measured by Preventive Maintenance schedule compliance and equipment downtime.
  • Maintain a safe environment for all department functions as measured by the safety record, accident-free days, lost time days, and total dollars spent.
  • Ensure all equipment is working efficiently and supports energy management and utility cost control initiatives.
  • Work closely with maintenance team to complete all tasks and emergencies that come up in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
