TemperPack is a rapidly growing company based in Richmond, Virginia. We design and manufacture innovative, sustainable packaging components for cold-chain shipping of food and pharmaceutical products. The markets we serve have an urgent need for disruptive, sustainable alternatives to replace the wide array of non-sustainable packaging materials conventionally used in the cold chain such as Styrofoam coolers. Our aspiration is to provide packaging solutions that customers and end-consumers feel great about using. We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor who will ensure that our production and manufacturing assets are fully utilized and maintained on a daily basis while adhering to proper safety rules and regulations. The qualified applicant will be asked to supervise routine preventative maintenance on sophisticated equipment (extruder, panel line), delegate and safely perform corrective maintenance, and manage a group of Maintenance Technicians. Additionally, the position will be responsible for the supervision and oversight of E&I activities, to include preventative maintenance and calibrations to all electrical, instrumentation, and process equipment.   • Staff and oversee the duties of designated crew members
  • Ability to follow guidelines, specifications, standards & regulations, and influence best practices to accomplish work objectives
  • Responsible for coaching and performance evaluations of direct reports
  • Carry out diverse skilled activities involving the repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities
  • Designate and monitor the work of personnel to achieve the completion of diverse tasks in relation to building and equipment.
  • Enforce adherence to safety practices and principles, relevant to machine and people, safety/LOTO.
  • Ensure the maintenance of equipment and tools in a clean, secure, and appropriate working condition
  • Maintain shop etiquette
  • Conduct start of shift and end of shift audits
  • Ensure daily activities are being performed safely, efficiently and diligently
  • Address maintenance calls in a timely manner
  • Maintain strong relationships with other departments
  • Maintain routine records of maintenance such as PMs and pass-downs.
  • Maintain machine logs to record the type and incidence of errors, repairs or maintenance performed and machine settings
  • Lead preventative and routine mechanical maintenance on machines
  • Assist with and oversee the development of Junior Mechanics
  • Install, maintain, and repair industrial control systems and power distribution systems including electric motors, motor control devices, and variable speed drives
  • Maintain accurate equipment files such as maintenance and inventory logs, manuals, blueprints, and program revision archive
  • Operate and perform maintenance of hand tools, light, and heavy equipment
  • Read and understand manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Write, implement, and maintain SOP for Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Knowledge and high-level efficiency of hand tools, power tools, drill press, grinders, etc. Knowledge of safe working practices with rotating and high voltage machinery
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements including lock-out/tag-out, confined spaces, MSDS, etc
  • Working knowledge of motor control circuits
  • Ability to disassemble and assemble gearboxes, pumps
  • Ability to identify and measure critical tolerances or dimensions
  • Ability to know that gearboxes and pumps need alignment
  • Ability to work cohesively with other team members, and to contribute positively to the work environment
  • Experience with extrusion or lamination machines or comparable manufacturing process.
  • Experience in industrial process equipment and instrumentation.
  • Experience supervising and leading a team of maintenance technicians
  • Familiar with PLC ladder logic.
  • 5 years of experience.
  • HS diploma or GED required, Technical or Vocation School, preferred
  • Be on your feet for 10-12 hours
  • Able to lift 40 pounds unassisted.
  • Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments
  • Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts
  • Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts
