About The Position

Chula Vista Resort is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor. The supervisor duties are to ensure that guests concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner. Oversee the team and direct when needed in a fast-paced environment. Complete all tasks assigned in a way that is best for the guest, team members, and Chula Vista. Complete repairs in house rather than vending out work. This is a working, hands on position Perform on demand and preventative maintenance repairs for all guest rooms, kitchen areas and public areas at Chula Vista including the adjacent employee housing buildings. Reports to Maintenance Director/Manager. Repairs may include plumbing, furnishings and fixtures, painting, wall cover repairs, and carpentry. Respond to work orders as assigned in and complete them per SOP in property's digital work order system. Makes daily preventative maintenance inspections. Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of HVAC equipment, appliances, elevators, fire alarm system, door lock system, electrical and related systems. Respond and perform duties in a timely and efficient manner. Knowledge of safety requirements is a MUST- operate within OSHA standards and company safety policies at all times. Assist to oversee the property grounds, public areas, and hotel's guest rooms. Display a calm and attentive approach in solving problems and handling difficult situation, collecting information and sincerely helping to resolve them. Determine, communicate, and monitor personal and department achievements and performance standards on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be a leader and be willing to work side by side with the team.
  • Be able to continually communicate with leadership, the team, and when needed, the guests.
  • Must have 3 years supervisor and maintenance experience with a strong mechanical understanding.
  • Candidate will be working with a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) tracking and completing work orders.
  • Skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job, operation of equipment, and adhere to safety practices.
  • Ability to work with a digital work order system on a hand-held device.
  • The ability to work under limited supervision and able to communicate with other staff positions is important.
  • Must be able to follow instructions to learn position.
  • Lifting and carrying: The ability to lift or carry items of 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Climbing: The ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, or stairs
  • Working in confined spaces: The ability to work in spaces like trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels
  • Responding to sounds: The ability to respond quickly to sounds
  • Working in environmental conditions: The ability to work in cold and hot environments, on concrete floors, or in noisy environments
  • Wearing personal protective gear: The ability to wear personal protective gear for most of the day
  • Manual dexterity: The ability to use fine motor abilities for detailed tasks, such as handling small or delicate objects
  • Balance and coordination: The ability to ensure stability during task performance, such as executing precise movements
  • Hearing: The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds
  • Vision: The ability to see clearly at approximately 20 inches or less (near visual acuity) and at 20 feet or more (far visual acuity)
