About The Position

The Citterio USA Maintenance Supervisor is a supervisor role that involves direct, hands-on participation in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all machinery and equipment within the facility. This role requires a proactive leader who is comfortable working alongside team members, troubleshooting, performing repairs, and leading by example in a fast-paced, food production environment. The Maintenance Supervisor will also play a key role in enforcing safety, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably within a food production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration skills, with demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
  • Knowledge of food production regulatory standards, including OSHA, HACCP, and USDA guidelines.
  • Thorough knowledge of proper records management, retention of records and cataloguing of files.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to envision and deliver innovative solutions.
  • High energy level, ability to multitask, establish priorities, work independently.
  • Positive interpersonal skills included effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive.
  • Strong leadership skills, with commitment to leading by example and building a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information which may be proprietary to Citterio USA.

  • (a) Completion of a high school, or general equivalency diploma; and,
  • (b) Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance mechanics, or a related field is preferred; and,
  • (c) Experience as a maintenance technician in a food manufacturing environment preferably in meat processing; and,
  • (d) Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems; and,
  • (e) Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and technical manuals; and,
  • (f) Understanding of OSHA, USDA, or other relevant safety and regulatory standards; and,
  • The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively on the floor engage in physical tasks, and handle a variety of maintenance equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Maintenance and Repairs: Work alongside the maintenance team to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration equipment. This includes daily production machinery as well as facility systems (HVAC, compressors, ect.).
  • Preventative Maintenance: Lead and perform scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure equipment longevity and reliability. Identify opportunities to improve the preventative maintenance program.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor the maintenance team, providing training on equipment operation, troubleshooting techniques, and safety practices. Set an example by working directly with the team on the floor.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA regulations, food safety standards (HACCP), USDA and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce adherence to safe work practices.
  • Production Support: Collaborate closely with production staff to minimize equipment downtime, quickly respond to machine breakdowns, and maintain productivity in a dynamic environment.
  • Inventory and Supplies Management: Monitor and manage the inventory of spare parts, tools, and materials required for maintenance tasks. Ensure critical parts are stocked to avoid production delays.
  • Continuous Improvement: Work actively with the team to identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and safety protocols. Propose and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Stay Updated on Industry Best Practices: Keep current with advancements in maintenance technology, tools, and industry standards to enhance facility operations and maintenance practices.
  • Other Duties as Necessary: Perform other related tasks as assigned, and assist with any maintenance or operational needs required to ensure facility performance.
