The Maintenance Supervisor – provides daily leadership and technical direction to a multi-site maintenance team operating within a 24/7 flexible packaging environment. This position is responsible for overseeing the repair, improvement, and reliable operation of plant equipment, facilities, and utilities—with heightened emphasis on electrical troubleshooting, electrical safety, and control’s reliability.

  • Lead maintenance and production teams to quickly resolve issues impacting productivity, equipment uptime, food safety, and employee safety.
  • Apply advanced electrical troubleshooting skills for PLCs, motor controls, automation systems, power distribution, and instrumentation.
  • Oversee electrical work orders and ensure safe, accurate, and timely execution.
  • Monitor maintenance backlog, scheduling, and completion rates; address delays and resource constraints.
  • Manage spare parts inventory for electrical and control components to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure equipment performance and compliance with electrical safety standards.
  • Maintain audit-ready status for certifications and regulatory inspections (SQF, OSHA, NFPA 70E, EPA, DNR).
  • Drive preventive maintenance excellence through CMMS utilization, SOP compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and technical guidance to maintenance team members, emphasizing electrical proficiency and safety.
  • Promote a culture of safety, food quality, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) across all shifts in a 24/7 operation.
  • Education: BS in Electrical Engineering or Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in manufacturing maintenance; strong electrical background preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems: 3-phase power, motor controls, PLCs, sensors, VFDs, and automation.
  • Skilled in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Advanced electrical troubleshooting combined with solid mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer-based maintenance tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership in decision-making, problem-solving, and team coaching.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage priorities in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Electrical Journeyman License, Controls Technician Certification, PLC training (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), NFPA 70E Electrical Safety.
