Position Summary Assigns and leads the daily tasks of the Maintenance Team and Automation Team to accomplish in the most efficient manner the upkeep and repairs on all plant automation and equipment. Utilizes technical skills and leadership skills to support the production needs of the facility, improve the capabilities of those on the team, and manage the facility equipment efficiencies to maximize life expectancy and capability.

Requirements

Excellent computer capabilities, including MS Office.
Interpersonal skills to work effectively with individuals both internally and externally
The ability to work with and maintain information of a highly confidential and sensitive nature.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated ability to display diplomacy in day-to-day interactions with the commitment to task with awareness of urgency.
The ability to work independently and work as a value add to plant team efforts.
Ability to lift 25lbs. occasionally.
Sitting at a desk or workstation approximately 50 percent of the work time. Standing and walking approximately 50 percent of the work time.
Ability to work extended hours and/or travel with short notice; occasionally on weekends.
Normal office, manufacturing, and laboratory environments and travel by automobile and commercial transportation.
Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.

Responsibilities

Manages the Maintenance personnel to maximize their effectiveness through thorough job analysis, proper job assignments, improved training and development programs, and effective personnel management.
Develops, implements and maintains a proactive technical presence on their team to insure optimum machine utilization, personnel utilization, and efficiency of both. Works with the manufacturing team to train and develop the proper skill levels on the team to support the customer and company objectives.
Develop, implement and continually improve the preventative maintenance system used in the facility for all equipment. Utilizes the technical staff both in maintenance and manufacturing to improve our proactive approach to equipment care.
Develop training and development recommendations for self and those who directly report to the position to ensure that all personnel are up to date with latest technologies necessary for Jarden Plastic Solutions’ to be successful in competing in our changing industry.
Manages in a proactive manner utilizing sound and professional skills to comply with all of Jarden Plastic Solutions’ policies and directives while following the legal guidelines for proper management and ISO environment.
Works as a team member to accomplish the tasks at hand and at the end of the day be a proactive supporter of continuous improvement to evaluate the team performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Performs any and all functions as instructed or needed to support Jarden Plastic Solutions’ objectives regardless of scope.
Maintain plant auxiliaries, working with outside vendors to improve the systems capabilities and reliabilities. Develops cost effective plans to improve the systems for extended life.
Evaluates the equipment needs of the facility and makes recommendations for improvements both in new and existing technology to improve overall job efficiency, cost efficiency and to remove down time as a cause for customers not getting their product on time.
Makes recommendations for equipment purchases to maximize earnings potential for Jarden Plastic Solutions. Ensures timely ordering and installation of equipment to get projects to manufacturing prior to commitment date to our customers.
