About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising daily activities of maintenance department to ensure efficient operations in a food processing facility. Responsible for ensuring all tasks performed by associates and others are performed safely, efficiently, and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality and Reliability. All functions in the areas of Maintenance Business Management, Maintenance Materials Inventory, Maintenance Recruiting, computerized maintenance management systems, preventive/predictive and corrective maintenance programs.

Requirements

  • Degree in related Technical field is strongly preferred or relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 1-5 years of related leadership experience in a Manufacturing environment is required
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems.
  • Must have the knowledge of good manufacturing practices.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule to include days, afternoons, midnights, and weekend work.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be compassionate but be capable of upholding all safety and work rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Must be able to work extended hours according to maintenance schedule.
  • Ability to perform record keeping and mathematics necessary for employment purposes.

  • Ability to utilize fundamental concepts and principles.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and advise department associates of work to be completed daily.
  • Oversee daily set up of machinery and equipment prior to production for efficient and effective operation.
  • Manufacturing Process Reliability and Equipment Reliability.
  • Monitor packaging line efficiency.
  • Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods (SQF)that meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Assist with developing and auditing Preventative Maintenance (PM) program.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Technical Skills Management of electrical, electronics, controls programming, mechanical systems (process equipment, packaging equipment), stockroom, building and grounds, and utilities systems.
  • Provide maintenance training to include the effective utilization of the maintenance logs, completion of routine maintenance specific to facility, equipment operations and support.
  • Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure the implementation of all repairs/modifications resulting from Gap assessments, plant audits, and notifications are executed on time and offer high-quality workmanship.
  • Assists with developing department employee relations by continued communication of all information affecting them and through the conduct of periodical departmental meetings.
  • Reports to Maintenance Director
  • Communicate with outside agencies i.e. contractors, equipment suppliers, technical consultants, and vendors.
  • Continuous and close coordination with the Maintenance Manager, Production and Quality Team Members, and Human Resource
  • Conduct regular inspections of plant to seek out potential problems and to solicit operator feedback
  • Assures compliance with government regulatory agencies.
