About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor – 1st Shift will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within our food manufacturing plant. This role requires a strong leader with excellent technical skills, the ability to manage a team, and a commitment to ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Maintenance Leadership experience required
  • At least 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with vendors-setting up and managing in plant
  • Depth of knowledge in electrical and mechanical
  • CMMS experience needed
  • Strong personal safety experience
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of industrial equipment and machinery and knowledge/understanding of PLC’s
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience or other large ERP experience preferred
  • Project management skillset is a benefit
  • Food manufacturing experience is a big plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians in performing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on production equipment and machinery.
  • Collaborate with production and other departments to ensure minimal downtime and efficient production processes.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Train and develop maintenance staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and skill enhancement.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history and spare parts inventory.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a secure work environment.
  • Collaborate with the procurement department to source and purchase necessary spare parts and supplies.
  • Provide a comprehensive shift handoff to oncoming shift and the maintenance management team, both orally and in writing on a daily basis at the end of each shift. Include issues throughout the shift, status, and expected timeline to return to production.
  • Identify potential cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities an provide suggestions to improve methods and processes.
