About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for repairs, maintains physical structure, equipment and grounds of the Community. This position reports to the Executive Director. The following is a general list of key job duties and responsibilities in your position. The list is not to be considered inclusive and you will be required to perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned by an authorized supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with the Community's personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Executive Director, RCC or Unit Manager.
  • Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Maintain community grounds in an orderly fashion; free from hazards, debris and clutter.
  • Ensure sidewalks and drives are free from snow, ice, leaves and in good repair.
  • Maintain the building including painting, replacing worn or stained tiles, repairing furniture, locks, baseboards, trim, windows, etc.
  • Ensure the electrical system and all electrical appliances are in good working condition.
  • Ensure that all plumbing is in working order and in good repair.
  • Organize fire drills and ensure that all fire safety equipment is in working order and inspected on a regular schedule.
  • Maintain all Community equipment including washers, dryers, boilers, air conditioners, furnaces and lawn mowers.
  • Assist staff in moving residents and furniture as required.
  • Assure 24-hour availability of service for maintenance emergencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations including blood borne pathogens, infection control, hazardous materials, fire safety, and building, electric and plumbing codes.
  • Ensure compliance with Residents' Rights.
  • Staff the maintenance department, following facility policies when hiring, orienting, and disciplining employees.
  • Maintain and keep accurate accounting for all budgets assigned, and inform property manager prior to spending monies in excess of the budget.
